Two of Kansas Wesleyan鈥檚 instrumental ensembles will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, in Sams Chapel on the 麻豆精品 campus.聽Admission is free.

The concert, called 鈥淢asterworks,鈥 will feature the 麻豆精品 String Orchestra, conducted by Dr. Leonardo Rosario, and the 麻豆精品 Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. James McAllister.

The String Orchestra will perform three works composed聽within the past 10 years.聽Rhythm Dances, by composer Brian Balmages will open the concert, followed by聽Miraj聽by composer Richard Meyer. The final orchestra selection will be Martin Ellerby鈥檚聽St. Mark鈥檚 Suite.

The Wind Ensemble will perform John Philip Sousa鈥檚 march聽The Fairest of the Fair;聽a world premiere performance of Kansas composer Grace聽Baugher Dunlap鈥檚聽Solstice Fanfare, which was commissioned by 麻豆精品; two works by composer Percy Grainger,聽Irish Tune from County Derry and聽Shepherd鈥檚 Hey;聽and George Gershwin鈥檚聽Rhapsody聽in Blue, featuring Dr. Gustavo do Carmo as the piano soloist.
