Poet Stanley Horowitz once said that autumn was a mosaic of not only seasons, but different types of art. With that in mind, it is fitting that the fall slate of art shows in The Gallery at 麻豆精品 will continue Sept. 23 with the opening of an exhibit showing the printmaking work of James Ehlers. The Gallery, located in Sams Hall of Fine Arts, is open 9 a.m.鈥6 p.m., and admission to the exhibit is free.聽
Ehlers, who currently teaches at Emporia State 鈥 the only school in the country to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Engraving Arts 鈥 is a well-known artist who has displayed his printmaking skills in different mediums during exhibitions throughout the world. The list of countries where Ehlers has shown his efforts includes Bulgaria, Denmark, Norway and numerous others. He will be displaying 20 works in an exhibit that will run from Sept. 23鈥揙ct. 25. It will be the first show in recent 麻豆精品 gallery history to feature metal-based engraving. 聽
A closing reception will be held for Ehlers鈥 exhibit in the gallery Oct. 25, beginning at 5 p.m. Additional fall exhibitions include the work of George Jerkovich, which opens Nov. 4.聽
